Mumbai, Maharashtra — In a major boost to urban green space and public recreation, the **Maharashtra government has announced plans to build what will be India’s largest Central Park, spread over 295 acres in the heart of Mumbai. The ambitious project was unveiled by Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, highlighting the state’s commitment to environmental development and public wellness.

The proposed park will integrate 125 acres of the historic Mahalaxmi Racecourse with 170 acres of land along the Coastal Road, creating an expansive urban oasis. In a unique design feature, the surface will remain predominantly green — with no concrete structures apart from walking paths — preserving open space for leisure, exercise, and cultural activities.

Officials have also revealed plans for a 10 lakh square feet underground eco-friendly sports complex beneath the park. This facility is expected to offer international-standard sports amenities, showcasing capabilities for both modern and traditional Indian games such as kho-kho and kabaddi.

To enhance visitor access and convenience, the park will be linked to the Coastal Road via an underground tunnel, with dedicated parking facilities accommodating both cars and buses, while the Nehru Science Centre Metro Station will serve as a key transit point.

Deputy CM Shinde described the project as “the largest gift ever given to Mumbaikars” — a bold move to expand green lungs in a city known for its dense population and limited open spaces. Planners say the park will not only boost recreational areas for residents but also contribute to reduced air pollution and improved quality of life across the metropolis.

Kendrapara, Odisha — A remarkable wildlife moment has captured hearts across India after a troop of monkeys in Odisha’s Kendrapara district boldly attempted to rescue one of their own from a crocodile attack in a river near Mahakalapada. The dramatic incident, now viral on social media, showcases an extraordinary display of animal unity and courage.

According to eyewitnesses and video footage circulating online, a saltwater crocodile suddenly lunged at a monkey near the riverbank, grabbing hold of it. The footage shows the troop diving into the river together and creating chaos around the predator, prompting the crocodile to retreat and release the trapped monkey. The dramatic collective effort has stirred admiration from wildlife enthusiasts and social media users alike, who hailed it as a powerful lesson in loyalty and unity among animals.

Locals in Kendrapara, an area known for its rich biodiversity and frequent sightings of crocodiles from nearby Bhitarkanika National Park, said incidents of human-wildlife interaction are not uncommon, but rarely do animals show such coordinated assistance toward each other.

The heart-touching video continues to be widely shared, with many viewers calling the monkeys’ daring rescue attempt a symbol of bravery and compassion in the wild.

LPG Refill Rule Changed Amid Iran–Israel War

New Delhi — Bharat mein chal rahe global tension ke beech, khaaskar Iran–Israel war ke impact ko dekhte hue, sarkar ne LPG refill rules mein bada badlav kiya hai, taaki supply ko control kiya ja sake aur hoarding ko roka ja sake.

Reports ke mutabik, ab domestic LPG cylinder refill booking ka minimum gap 21 din se badha kar 25 din kar diya gaya hai. Yeh kadam isliye liya gaya hai kyunki panic buying aur stockpiling ke cases badh rahe the.

Energy sector par war ka seedha asar dekhne ko mil raha hai. Middle East se LPG supply disrupt hone ke kaaran India mein demand-supply pressure badh gaya hai, kyunki desh apni LPG zarurat ka bada hissa import karta hai.

Sarkar ne saath hi kuch aur kadam bhi uthaye hain:

  • Domestic users ko priority dene ke liye industrial LPG supply limit ki gayi
  • Refineries ko LPG production badhane ke nirdesh diye gaye
  • Alternative fuels jaise PNG (piped natural gas) ko promote kiya ja raha hai

Iske alawa, kuch reports ke mutabik PNG wale households ko LPG subsidy se bahar rakhne jaise steps bhi liye ja rahe hain, taaki resources ka better distribution ho sake.

Experts ka kehna hai ki yeh measures temporary ho sakte hain, lekin agar global conflict lamba chalta hai, toh fuel sector par aur bhi asar dekhne ko mil sakta hai.

Authorities ne logon se appeal ki hai ki panic buying se bachein aur sirf zarurat ke hisaab se hi LPG refill book karein.

Further updates are awaited as the situation evolves.

Canada Offers LNG to Meet India’s Rising Energy Demand

New Delhi/Ottawa — In a significant development for global energy cooperation, Canada has offered to supply Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) to India to help meet its rapidly growing energy demand.

According to official sources, the proposal comes amid increasing pressure on India’s energy sector due to rising consumption and global supply uncertainties. Canada, which has vast natural gas reserves, is positioning itself as a reliable partner for long-term energy security.

Experts believe that LNG imports from Canada could diversify India’s energy sources and reduce dependence on traditional suppliers in the Middle East. The move is also seen as part of broader efforts to strengthen economic and strategic ties between the two nations.

Discussions are reportedly underway regarding infrastructure, transportation logistics, and pricing frameworks. Long-distance shipping and terminal capacity are among the key challenges being considered.

Energy analysts have noted that such partnerships are crucial as India continues its transition toward cleaner fuels, with natural gas playing a key role in reducing carbon emissions compared to conventional fossil fuels.

Both countries are expected to engage in further talks to finalize potential agreements in the coming months.

Further updates are awaited.
