Faridpur, Uttar Pradesh — In a major action against illegal constructions, the local administration in Faridpur carried out a demolition drive and razed a 1,200 square metre unauthorised community hall (samaaroh bhavan) that had been built without proper approvals.

According to officials, the structure was standing on land where no legal permission or building clearance had been granted. Despite repeated notices issued to the concerned parties, the construction was not removed, forcing the administration to take strict action.

Early in the morning, a team of municipal authorities, revenue officials, and police personnel reached the site with heavy machinery and began the demolition. The operation was completed under tight security to avoid any law and order issues.

An official from the local administration said, “This structure was illegal and violated land-use and construction norms. Such encroachments will not be tolerated. We will continue similar drives against all unauthorised buildings.”

Residents of the area said the hall was being used for large gatherings and events, which often caused traffic congestion and public inconvenience. Many welcomed the move, calling it a step towards better civic order.

The administration has made it clear that no illegal construction will be spared, and surveys are underway to identify more such structures across Faridpur.
