Mumbai Police Gets 1,290 Modern Vehicles; CM Flags Off

Mumbai: In a significant boost to the city’s law enforcement capabilities, the Mumbai Police has received 1,290 modern vehicles, flagged off in a ceremony by the Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Eknath Shinde.

The fleet includes patrol cars, SUVs, motorcycles, and specialized vehicles equipped with the latest technology for rapid response and crime prevention. Officials said this initiative is aimed at improving police mobility, ensuring quicker response times, and enhancing overall public safety across the metropolis.

Speaking at the flag-off ceremony, the Chief Minister emphasized the importance of modernizing the police force to tackle evolving challenges in urban policing. He said, “These new vehicles will not only strengthen our operational efficiency but also help maintain law and order more effectively in Mumbai.”

Mumbai Police officials highlighted that the vehicles are fitted with GPS tracking, advanced communication systems, and other state-of-the-art features to support patrolling and emergency interventions. The addition of these vehicles is expected to cover critical areas, including traffic management, rapid response to crimes, and disaster management.

The event was attended by senior police officers, government officials, and civic leaders who lauded the move as a step toward safer streets and a more responsive police force.
