At least 31 people were killed and several others injured in a suicide blast at a mosque in Islamabad, authorities confirmed on Tuesday. The explosion occurred during prayer time, causing panic and chaos in the surrounding area.

According to preliminary reports, the attacker allegedly detonated explosives inside the mosque premises. Emergency services rushed to the spot soon after the blast, and the injured were shifted to nearby hospitals for treatment.

Security forces cordoned off the area and launched a search operation. Officials said an investigation is underway to determine the identity of the attacker and whether any group was involved in planning the attack.

Pakistan’s government strongly condemned the incident, calling it a cowardly act of terror. Leaders expressed condolences to the families of the victims and vowed strict action against those responsible.

The tragic incident has once again raised concerns about security and the threat of extremist violence in the region.
