Dense Fog Disrupts Flight Operations at Delhi Airport
Reported by: Neha Jaiswal

New Delhi:
Severe dense fog conditions disrupted normal operations at Indira Gandhi International Airport on Thursday, leading to delays and cancellations of several flights. Low visibility during early morning hours caused inconvenience to hundreds of passengers.

Airport officials said that visibility dropped sharply, affecting both arrival and departure schedules. Several flights were delayed, while some were diverted to nearby airports as a safety measure. Airlines issued advisories, requesting passengers to check flight status before heading to the airport.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) had earlier forecast dense fog over the national capital, warning of possible disruptions in air, rail, and road traffic. Despite advanced landing systems in place, prolonged low visibility continued to impact operations.

Passengers at the airport were seen waiting for updates, while airlines and ground staff worked to manage the situation. Authorities assured that operations would gradually normalize as weather conditions improve.

With winter conditions intensifying, officials have urged travelers to plan ahead and remain alert for further advisories, as foggy weather is expected to persist over the next few days.
