New Delhi:
The Delhi Assembly’s Winter Session concluded on a chaotic note as repeated disruptions, loud sloganeering and heated exchanges between the ruling Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and the opposition BJP brought proceedings to a near standstill.
Throughout the session, the House witnessed frequent adjournments with members rushing into the well, raising slogans and accusing each other of derailing democracy. Key issues meant for discussion, including governance and civic matters, remained largely unaddressed due to continuous protests.
The final day saw tempers flare even more, with both sides trading sharp allegations. While the BJP accused the AAP government of avoiding accountability, AAP leaders alleged deliberate obstruction by the opposition to stall legislative work.
As the session ended without meaningful legislative outcomes, questions were raised over the effectiveness of the Assembly and the impact of political confrontation on public interest.
