Truck Rods Make Ertiga Dangerous
Mumbai, February 11, 2026 — A serious road safety concern surfaced after a Maruti Ertiga car collided with a truck carrying long iron rods, leaving the vehicle severely damaged and raising questions over highway safety norms.
The incident reportedly took place on a busy stretch where the truck was transporting extended metal rods that were protruding beyond the vehicle’s rear without adequate warning indicators. During traffic movement, the Ertiga rammed into the rods, causing major damage to the front portion of the car.
Eyewitnesses claimed that the rods were not properly marked with reflectors or red flags, which are mandatory safety requirements for vehicles carrying oversized or projecting loads. Fortunately, no fatalities were reported, though occupants of the car sustained minor injuries and were given medical attention.
