Ranchi, Jharkhand — In a proud moment for Indian sports, 14-year-old football sensation Anushka Kumari has been honoured with the Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar for her outstanding achievements in football. The prestigious national award was conferred upon her by the President of India at the Veer Bal Diwas ceremony held in New Delhi, recognising her excellence and commitment to the sport at such a young age.
Anushka, hailing from Ranchi, has emerged as one of India’s most promising young football talents, representing the nation in the Under-17 women’s football team and earning accolades for her consistent performances and goal-scoring ability on the field.
Despite coming from a humble background, with her father working as a labourer and her mother supporting the family through daily-wage work, Anushka’s passion and dedication have driven her success and brought immense pride to her community.
Following her national recognition, Anushka received felicitation from Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren in her home state, with leaders highlighting the need to nurture young sporting talent across the country.
Her achievement not only celebrates her individual excellence but also serves as an inspiration for young athletes nationwide, reinforcing the growing prominence of women’s football in India.
